Android 7.1 Nougat Developer for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Pixel C
Google has released latest Android 7.1 Nougat Developer OS Preview for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Pixel C smartphone, This update brings take a new features for consumers and developers, including better Daydream VR support and A/B system updates such as app shortcuts features,image keyboard support and new icons.
There are three ways to get the Developer Preview online. You can enroll in the Android Beta Program and wait to get the OTA, you can flash the OTA manually from here, or you can wipe the whole device and flash a system image.
To Android 7.1 Nougat install an OTA package to a device:
Download an OTA device image from the table below.
Reboot the device into Recovery mode. For more information on putting Nexus devices in this mode, see Reset your Nexus device to factory settings.
On the device, select ADB sideload.
Connect the device to a computer with the Android development environment loaded and the Android Debug Bridge (adb) tool installed.
Run the following command:
To use the Android Emulator to run the Android 7.1 Preview, you need to download the Android 7.1 Preview SDK and create a virtual device for the emulator.
First, download the Android 7.1 Preview SDK as follows (if you already got it while setting up to develop for Android 7.1 Preview, you can skip this part):
In Android Studio, open the Settings dialog (File > Settings on Windows/Linux, or Android Studio > Preferences on Mac). In the left pane, select Appearance & Behavior > System Settings > Android SDK.
Android 7.1 Nougat Developer preview (build NPF10C) is now available for download for Google Nexus 5X, Huawei Nexus 6P and Pixel C devices through the Android developer website here. and Stable Android 7.1 Nougat will be release in December 2016.
